We want Worthingās most exciting, unusual, and impactful ideas. Whether itās a wild and whacky concept or a deeply insightful perspective, weāre looking for ideas that challenge, inspire, and transform the way the world sees our town.
Your idea may already be underway or is purely something swirling in your mind, WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!
TEDx is about ideas changing everything, not selling a product, brand, or service. Your talk should focus on the idea itself, not you or your business.
We want to see you and your idea in action! Youāll need to upload a short, one-minute video pitch explaining your idea when you apply.
TEDx talks are idea-driven and supported by compelling storiesāwe wonāt be using slides for this event. We also do not accept political, religious, or commercial agendas.
We want talks that are wild, unexpected, inspiring, and insightful. Think about how your idea can make Worthing stand out but also have a wider impact beyond our town.
You donāt have to live in Worthing to apply! We are looking for ideas that can come to life in Worthing and bring positive impact to the town. If your idea is something that could shape Worthingās future, we want to hear from you.
We have very limited spots, so if you arenāt selected this year, that doesnāt mean we donāt want to hear from you again! It just might not be the right fit this time. Keep applying in the future!
To ensure we can get as many great ideas on the stage as possible, ETDxWorthing talks are between 8-10 minutes. Getting a big idea into a short time requires time and attention. You may feel you have to cut out a lot of content, but this process will help you see your own idea more clearly than ever before because you have to keep it concise.
Our event will take place on Monday 6th October in the evening. You MUST be able to attend:
- digital rehearsal in August (Dates TBC)
- in-person speaker rehearsal and workshop on Sunday 5th October, all day
- speaker dinner on Sunday 5th October in the evening
- tech run on Monday 6th October all day.
- the event itself Monday 6th October in the evening
If you are not free on one of the dates mentioned above, don't let it deter you from applying; we may be able to work around it if your idea is soooo good we can't resist!
